Sustainability Policy

Wedding Hair and Beauty Services

As a sole trader in the wedding hair and beauty industry, I am committed to operating my business in a way that minimises environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of service, hygiene, and professionalism.

My Commitment

I aim to continually improve the sustainability of my business by making conscious, responsible choices in how I work, travel, use and source products.

Sustainable Practices

1. Travel & Emissions Reduction

  • I carefully plan travel routes to minimise fuel consumption and reduce emissions.

  • Where possible, I car share with other professionals and avoid unnecessary journeys.

2. Responsible Product Use and choices

  • I prioritise using products with recyclable packaging or packaging that can be reused.

  • I actively increase my use of refillable products to reduce waste.

  • I choose to use brands with sustainable packaging and where possible, eco-certified ingedients such as organic and/or cruelty free.

  • Where possible I use biodegradable accessorise such as cotton pads.

3. Waste Reduction

  • I minimise the use of single-use items wherever hygiene regulations allow.

  • I am mindful of product usage to avoid unnecessary waste.

  • I personally handle and dispose of my own waste to ensure it is recycled correctly.

  • All paper, plastic, glass, aerosols and electronic devices are recycled appropriately.

4. Paperless Operations

  • To reduce paper waste, I use digital contracts, invoices, and communications wherever possible.

5. Energy Efficiency

  • I use energy-efficient lighting such as LED which consumes significantly less energy and aim to reduce energy consumption in all areas of my work.

  • All equipment and lighting is switched off when not in use.

Carbon Emmissions

The main source of carbon emmisions in my business comes from travel between my bridal hair studio, wedding venues and client locations.

  • Travel to weddings (aprox 80 - 100 weddings per year on average 40 mile round trip)

    • Fuel and Emissions Data (1.3 DiG-T MH Acenta Premium) 1.3L Petrol Mild Hybrid

    • CO2 Emissions: Approximately 142 g/km

    • Fuel Consumption (Combined): 44.8

    • Emmissions Level Euro 6e

  • Estimated Annual Emissions: Based on an average driving distance of 10,000 miles (approx. 16,093 km) and emissions of ~142 g/km. Approximately 2.29 tonnes of  per year

Ongoing Commitment and Action Plan 2026 - 2028

I review my sustainability practices on an annual basis to ensure continuous improvement and to identify new ways to reduce my environmental impact.

I will continue to:

  • Plan travel routes to minimise fuel consumption and reduce emissions.

  • Where possible, I car share with other professionals and avoid unnecessary journeys.

  • Prioritise using products with recyclable packaging or packaging that can be reused.

  • Actively increase my use of refillable products to reduce waste.

  • Use brands with sustainable packaging and where possible, eco-certified ingedients such as organic and/or cruelty free.

  • Where possible I use biodegradable accessorise.

  • Continue with a paperless operation.

I believe that small, consistent actions can make a meaningful difference, and I am proud to offer a service that reflects both creativity and environmental responsibility.
